MB Financial Bank Customers Now Have Access to 550 Additional Chicago Area ATMs through STAR Network

By: Jeffrey Bierig
MB Financial Bank, N.A. debit and ATM cardholders now have access to 650 surcharge-free ATMs in the Chicago area with the addition of STARsf® Surcharge-Free Access through First Data Corp.’s STAR® Network, increasing the number of no convenience-fee ATMs available to MB Financial customers by approximately 500 percent, it was announced today by Tommy FitzGibbon, Executive Vice President and Chief Retail Banking Officer.

Chicago (PRWEB) October 28, 2005 -- MB Financial Bank, N.A. debit and ATM cardholders now have access to 650 surcharge-free ATMs in the Chicago area with the addition of STARsf® Surcharge-Free Access through First Data Corp.’s STAR® Network, increasing the number of no convenience-fee ATMs available to MB Financial customers by approximately 500 percent, it was announced today by Tommy FitzGibbon, Executive Vice President and Chief Retail Banking Officer.

MB Financial’s own ATMs have always been free to its own cardholders. The additional 550 locations will provide enhanced access to banking services, which is reflective of the MB Financial commitment to BETSIMPSIER banking; better, simpler and easier.

MB Financial’s addition of STARsf allows customers greater options to conduct transactions when and where they want. This is particularly important for business customers that are not in close proximity to a branch, but want the flexibility to make deposits or withdrawals without being nearby.

“Our customers told us we needed more ATMs and now they will enormously benefit from the greater geographic reach and ease of access to the expanded network,” said FitzGibbon. MB Financial Bank cardholders will enjoy surcharge-free ATM access at any financial institution ATM with a STARsf logo coast-to-coast.

The MB Financial combination with STARsf is the latest example of the bank’s drive to offer BETSIMPSIER banking. Recently, MB Financial Bank extended the weekday cut-off time for the posting of deposits to 7:00 p.m. which is believed to be among the latest, if not the latest, in the Chicago area.

MB introduced its BETSIMPSIER concept in July when banking hours where extended at all locations with most branches being open seven days a week. Most lobbies are open until 7:00 p.m. and drive-ups until 8:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. On Saturdays, most lobbies are open until 3:00 p.m. and drive-ups until 5:00 p.m. Sundays most locations are open until 3:00 p.m.

The MB Financial West Loop location and our local telephone banking center remain open until midnight Monday through Saturday. MB Financial offers free online banking, no monthly fee online bill pay and automated telephone banking services in English, Spanish, Korean, Ukrainian and Polish, available 24/7.

It has also added a local toll-free phone number (888-i-bank-mb) to simplify reaching the bank. Customers now have more choices as to when and where to conduct bank transactions. MB Financial Bank (
www.mbfinancial.com ) is a locally-operated financial institution that has been delivering competitive personalized service for more than 90 years to privately-owned companies as well as to individuals who live and work in the Chicago metropolitan area.

MB Financial Bank’s holding company, MB Financial, Inc., is traded on the NASDAQ as “MBFI.” MB Financial Contacts: Karen A. Perlman (847) 653-1788
