An agreement between Norcross-based Directo, Inc. and Bank of North Georgia will allow the bank to offer FDIC-insured accounts to business clients whose employees previously were unable to receive the benefits of direct deposit and the electronic payments system. (PRWEB) January 26, 2005 --
"This serves to expand our opportunity with our business customers considerably," said Sherri Morgan, Director of Marketing at Bank of North Georgia. "It also allows us to enhance the lives of the residents in the community who are unable to utilize traditional banking products and services.”
Bank of North Georgia has 14 bank offices and serves customers in Cherokee, Cobb, Dekalb, Forsyth, Fulton, Gwinnett, and Pickens County in North Georgia. This is the first agreement of its kind for the bank, which is constantly looking for opportunities to support its customers and the community.
According to recent studies there are over 24 million unbanked individuals in the United States. For many, bank accounts that require credit checks are not possible, making bill payment and savings difficult.
"We are excited to see the commitment of Bank of North Georgia and the banking community to find ways to help the unbanked population benefit from the electronic banking services available today," said Jim McCarthy, Directo's SVP of Sales.
"By providing a low risk direct deposit account, Directo is able to be an outsourced solution for the industry to serve their corporate customers and their communities."
